Iraq Insurgents Using a UAV.

Don't think it's much of a secret that Ahma-dinner-jacket (the Iranian El Pres) is supporting the fight against coalition forces forces in Iraq. Whether it's logistical, material, intelligence etc.

Turns out though, the 'mericans blew an Iranian UAV outta the universe that was hovering 60 odd klinks north of Bagdhad for an hour and a bit last month.

Certainly a developement on the bad side.

Here's the article.

  1. "hovering 60 odd klinks north of Bagdhad for an hour and a bit " must have been a big rubber band to keep the propeller spinning that long.

NAut ~ Wonder whose job it was to wind THAT sucker up.

Hey, there's a really cool vid of the russians blowing a Georgian one out of existence too. Worth looking for.

  5. Not so much a development on the bad side as on the inevitable side. Who said the Yanks were the only ones allowed to use remote control toys?

  6. They'll just up the air cover. Surprised it lasted as long as it did.

  8. Man, the old Good-o-scope barely twitched there.
Good story - I heard nothing of this.

If'n the UAV wasn't "packin heat" could it be considered a civilian aircraft?

  10. U ~ Me too. I guess they'd give the Iraqi's the opportunity to do something about it then start going, "well?, well?, nothing huh?, okey dokey....".

    Bob ~ Doubt it.

FUCKING HAVOCK ~ roflmao. Dunno what sorta version they're up to. Balsa?.

  11. U ~ Just had a look around and one article suggested they TRACKED it for an hour and bit. That suggest to me they were letting it have a run to: (a) See what they were looking at, and (b) build up a justifiable reason for turning it into chaff. Because, ya know, UAV's make wrong turns ALL.THE.TIME.

  13. Hitler getting the bomb would have been inevitable if we'd waited long enough. Not that that would have been bad necessarily. Depends where you stand on the issue of anti-semitism, genocide and fascism and all those other juicy bits that the Mullahs offer.
