Racist Wars

There's an ongoing shit storm steaming away on Twitter at the moment with some nobody who seems to be a younger, hotter, apparently more intelligent version of Germaine Greer who's using the Gee Gee's - (see what I did there?... GG ... horse....?) - tactics of using a moment when everyone is focussed on the sacrifice of many - including their own family members - to shout out from the roof tops...

Remember war. The whole truth. Not the selective version. All the heros. All the victims. Not Anzac Day. Let's move on and learn.

Anzac Day. Fuck repect. Respect is just code for 'support our selective narrative used to prop up our power that we use to oppress.'

Live your own life. Make your own mark. Stop feeling big because your dead relative killed people because they knew no better.

Anzac Day. I abhor people whose self-esteem is fuelled by nationalism approved misogyny, homophobia, racism or cruelty administered by relos

I adore men. I hate bullies, homophobes, thugs, racists, misogynists and rapists in the name of war.

Anzac Day IS a glorification of war. They didn't die for us but because they were risktaking testosterone fuelled men with a pack mentality

Bigger heroes the women who leave abusive relationships with nothing. More guts the survivors of sex abuse. No medals, fanfares or marches.

Anzac Day. Men only enlisted to fight for the money, for the adventure or because they were racist.

Anyone who lived through war not a fucktard says no parades, no medals, everyone who suffered and struggled remembered. Anzac Day Shits Me.

Anzac Day. Men only inlisted to fight for the money, for the adventure or because they were racist.

Politicians should only be allowed to wage wars they have to serve in themselves and send their children to fight in. In the front line.

Anzac Day refuses to recognize the chest thumping and dick swinging politicians that create the death, suffering, torture and poverty of war

  1. Certainly she is going to gather no further support for her arguments if she lets the sort of comments you reproduce above made on her blog go unchallenged by her.

For me it is a simple matter of respect. I have no problem with debating the use of violence by our society, when it should and shouldn't be used. But to ascribe such motives to every single solider who ever fought in WWII?

In which case her argument would be better served by suggesting ways to recognise the suffering of those she has selected as 'special victims' as well as recognising the sacrifice of those who served and their families.

Instead she served as a rally point for the thoughtless and ignorant.

  3. And yet men and women of this country are prepared to go and fight, to die for her to have her own opinion. They are members of our defence forces. Past and present, men and women have sacrificed their lives so that we may live the way we do. No matter how deluded, small minded, and ignorant some may be.
Therein lies the dignity, the legend that is the ANZAC.
