Class.

Class doesn't have ANYTHING to do with money, credentials, your job, the shit that you drape over yourself, what you drive, or where you live. It's ALL about how you carry yourself.

  5. Fucking Oprah, the bitch. She was waffling on about social structure and shit. Annoyed me.

  6. And this in America - supposedly prides itself on being a 'classless' society (though in reality they've replaced the old English 'class' system of birthright with a system of perceived worth based primarily on how much money you have.)

  7. Which is some of the reason they're in the shit they are...

  8. Thanks to the broad definition of the word ‘class’, you’re both right. The word class in the sense Oprah used it refers to different levels within a society, which is what the root (Latin: classis) means. The way you used it to mean an individual person’s qualities is modern slang. They’re both correct in the appropriate context.

Sorry to bring lexicography into it, but I’m afraid I can’t control it, despite years of medication.

  9. I definitely get the differences the people doing the commenting are expressing, but they're arseholes.

Class, in the context of social standing, is a crock that wankers use to feel superior and more important than others with less shiny shit. To me, it's a way of attempting to separate themselves from having the same stinking shit as every other human walking, or crawling, on the planet.

As for the lexicography, my weakness is dickheads making movies and fucking up the attention to detail in regards to calling every plane with a Russian flag on it a 'mig'. Or fucking up the names of weapons. It kills a movie for me. Once, i'll accept, twice and she's all over.

  10. It looks like I'm calling you an arsehole. That's not my intention. I meant commentating, not commenting. As in Oprah describing the divide...
